Founded in 1996 by Alison Lueker, the executive chef and co-mastermind behind Sun in my Belly Café Catering, aimed to leave a lasting impression on Atlanta’s culinary scene. Alison emerged as a trailblazer in the city. Advocating for locally sourced, seasonally fresh ingredients that showcase an artful touch. Her signature dishes exemplify intricate, nature-inspired themes that have become synonymous with our brand. Alison’s journey took her across the globe. Culminating in her culinary education in Santa Fe. Eventually, she returned to Atlanta with a burning desire to create stunning, mouthwatering, and uniquely indulgent cuisine.
In 1998, Alison joined forces with Max LeBlanc. With this partnership propelling their catering business to new heights. Max’s expertise in quantitative business analysis and operations management proved invaluable to businesses success. He dedicated himself to ensuring the seamless operation of their catering services. While actively seeking a permanent location for the Sun in my Belly Neighborhood Café in Kirkwood. With the opening of our Kirkwood Café within the historic Bailey’s Hardware building, the restaurant was able to offer brunch and lunch to the local community. With this, Max and Alison successfully struck a balance between running the café and catering business. All the while crafting exquisite dishes and creating extraordinary experiences for various occasions. Finally, in 2012, after nearly a decade of serving the Kirkwood community, Sun in my Belly proudly and eagerly extended our offerings to include dinner service.
